Tesla launches charging station of the future with V3 Supercharger station
Tesla has launched the charging station of the future after unveiling the rare new V3 supercharging station at the Ceaser Palace property in Las Vegas.
Having just launched the Supercharger V3 infrastructure four months ago, this latest technology from Tesla enables a top charge rate of 250kW and comes less than three years after CEO Elon Musk promised to install more stations with solar and energy storage and Supercharger V3 capabilities.
The addition of extra energy storage batteries and solar panels at charging stations have long been a priority for Tesla, with Musk believing it will result in the cost of the Superchargers to stabilize and allow Tesla vehicles to use more power from renewable energy.
The station comes fully equipped with 24 Supercharger V3 stalls as well as an array of solar panels and powerpacks for energy storage, as well as 15 level two charge points.
According to Tesla, the new charging station in Las Vegas will be able to serve 1,500 vehicles every day.
Prior to the opening of this new Supercharging V3 station, Las Vegas had an average of 6,500 refills per month, growing the capacity of the market exponentially.
