Something Digital to return with new hybrid event in 2020

Brisbane’s premier digital innovation event, Something Digital, is back for 2020, albeit a little different to normal.

With 2020 proving itself to be a year full of unexpected, uncontrollable events, Something Digital has thrown out the rule book, choosing to run the 2020 edition of the event as a hybrid festival.

Proudly sponsored by MTA Queensland, Something Digital 2020: The Rebel Edition will be held over four days between Tuesday 20 October and Friday 23 October, and include both online and in-person experiences.

The festival will be held at multiple venues across Brisbane, with three-days of curated content encouraging engagement and collaboration among the digital community in a COVID-safe way.

With digital innovation expected to play a critical role in the post-pandemic digital world, content for the three days will focus on the topics of leveraging digital innovation to enable organisational growth, navigating the power and implications of the technologies powering the digital world and strengthening the human element which is driving digital innovations.

A fourth-day of Open Studios and The Something School will then wrap the event up, bringing the community together for an immersive and inspiration day focused on all thing’s digital innovation.

The event will also embrace online channels of communication, with live-streams and exclusive content being delivered to connect Something Digital to a wider audience.

As much of the world continues to come to terms with changing digital landscape resulting from the challenges faced this year, Something Digital has put together an expanded line-up of digital specialists to deliver even more expert knowledge in 2020.

The first 27 exciting speakers for the event have just been announced, with the MTA Group’s Chief Executive Officer Dr Brett Dale among the list of thought leaders, mischief-makers and digital legends named.

Dr Dale will be joined by international guests such as Chris Dowsett, Head of Decision Science and Analytics at Instagram, and Mazzy Cameron, Global Director – People and Organisational Development at eBay and Stubhub, while Queensland’s Chief Entrepreneur, Leanne Kemp will also be in attendance.

A full list of the 27 speakers announced so far can be found here.
