Sales Up for Electrics and Hybrids

The hybrid and battery electric vehicles are still mostly on an increasing trajectory bucking the trend of sales for fossil fuelled vehicles in the August VFACTs new vehicle sales report released by the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI).

New vehicles generally have experienced a very worrying decline for 29 consecutive months including the ranges of diesel and petrol-powered vehicles. However, there is a very different trend for electrics and hybrids, with sales mostly increasing during the same period.

It is certain that COVID-19 has strongly hit the new car sales market, which unfortunately has continued on the downward trajectory which commenced pre-COVID. However, electrics and hybrids continue to rise in most sectors.
