RoboSense and GAC Aion to deliver mass-produced autonomous vehicles with LiDAR
Leading smart LiDAR Sensor provider RoboSense has partnered with electric vehicle manufacturer GAC Aion New Energy Automobile Co. (GAC Aion) to mass-produce a variety of autonomous driving models such as the Aion LX.
The partnership will use RoboSense’s second-generation intelligence solid-state LiDAR technology equipped with the ADiGO autonomous driving system.
The current ADiGO system on the Aion LX and Aion V uses a triple perception system (camera, millimetre-wave radar, high-precision map) to achieve L3 autonomous driving in highway and urban expressway scenes. This interconnected ecosystem integrates a smart factory, autopilot system, and loT system.
The ADiGO system, paired with RoboSense’s second-generation LiDAR active high-precision three-dimensional perception will allow for more reliable perception information and ensure driving safety.
Together, they adopt two-dimensional MEMS Smart chip scanning architecture and a unique intelligent “GAZE” function, which can adjust the scanning method according to the driving scene, improving the perception of LiDAR, and improving the performance and experience of autonomous driving.
In high-speed scenes, intelligent “GAZE” dynamically increases the vertical resolution of the ROI area, allowing the ADiGO system to locate distant obstacles earlier. In urban scenes, the function improves the frame rate which helps the ADiGO system respond more quickly to the dynamic changes of surrounding vehicles, pedestrians, and other obstacles.
Through the sustainable upgrade of intelligent LiDAR product system solutions, RoboSense will work with partners to promote the intelligent car ecosystem.
