Following February’s floods, the Queensland Government has announced a series of new measures that will help to future-proof the state against serious weather events. The $13 billion Bruce Highway Upgrade includes a $660 million flood protection revamp with provision for smart technologies, including ramp signals, variable speed limit and message signs, and vehicle detection systems. The Palaszczuk Government also just announced a $55 million package as part of the state’s Zero Emission Vehicle Strategy, which will help drive the state’s commitment to net-zero by 2050.
With the Olympics on the far horizon, the deployment of innovative transport technologies that we see in Queensland today will only increase. Join our Brisbane ITS Business Networking Event to hear about all this and more.
The event will feature an update from the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads as well as a panel discussion focused on Queensland’s moves towards electric mobility, zero-emission vehicles, and greener transport options.
