MTA Queensland sponsoring the 2018 Electric Vehicle Expo

One of Australia’s biggest electric vehicle shows will attract thousands to the Brisbane Convention and Entertainment Centre this November.

The Motor Trades Association of Queensland (MTA Queensland) is sponsoring the 2018 Electric Vehicle (EV) Conference held on the 9th and 10th of November.

Guest speakers will include Greg McGarvie from ACE-EV who are building Australian made electric light commercial vehicles with their latest innovations on display.

MTA Institute General Manager, Paul Kulpa will talk about training future tradespeople working on repairing and maintaining EVs. AEVA national secretary and battery engineer Dr Chris Jones discusses the rapidly changing field of battery technology.

Additional speakers will captivate audiences, talking about everything from EV charging and the world’s first solar powered train to fast (and smart) cities. Major car brands represented include Hyundai, Nissan, Jaguar, Mitsubishi, Renault and BMW.

Building on from a very successful 2017 event, the conference will aim to raise awareness of EVs as well as educate on the health benefits, share information regarding charging options, encourage networking opportunities, explore global trends and more.

Kathy Winkcup, General Manager of Innovation at MTAiQ – MTA Queensland’s automotive innovation hub said, “We are very proud to be a gold sponsor of the Electric Vehicle Expo and support the fantastic work that the Australian Electric Vehicle Association Inc. (AEVA) does.

“Currently, more than two million electric vehicles are in use world-wide and from this number, only 4,000 are on Australian roads.

“As a nation, we are lagging behind other countries, and with electric vehicles expected to become mainstream in Australia by 2022, the continued education on the benefits of EVs is critical and MTA Queensland is committed to this cause.”

Along with the sponsorship of the Electric Vehicle Expo, MTAiQ is actively engaged with many entrepreneurs and start-ups who are developing innovative solutions for the automotive industry, in this time of immense digital disruption.
