Mitsubishi Reveals Vision Ralliart Concept
Mitsubishi has revived its Ralliart performance nameplate for a performance-focused SUV concept, one of seven models on show at the 2022 Tokyo Auto Salon.
Ralliart’s Outlander concept has been dubbed the Vision, and features a wide-body kit styled to present a premium and muscular look.
Large 22-inch wheels cover enlarged brake discs and six-piston calipers. Bold front and rear bumpers feature a honeycomb pattern grille insert with active shutters and an aggressive rear diffuser with deep inserts and a Formula Once-style lower rain light.
The matt black exterior paint “shows blue highlights when hit by light, creating a deep, multidimensional expression that enhances the vehicle’s high-quality feel.”
Based on the latest-generation Outlander Plug-in Hybrid, the model features higher motor output than its derivative, along with sporty four-wheel control tuning and enhanced battery capacity. No performance figures have been announced.
Mitsubishi stresses that the Vision Ralliart concept is just that – a concept – but asserts that customer feedback on the model “will be used in the future development of Mitsubishi vehicles.”
“The Vision Ralliart concept embodies Mitsubishi Motors’ vision for the new Ralliart and brings together the company’s engineering and passion for Monozukuri (craftsmanship),” the company writes.
“This is a concept car that expresses the possibilities of the new Ralliart, with elevated acceleration, cornering and braking in all road and weather conditions.”
