Lime E-scooter’s Trial Extended

Brisbane’s Lime electric scooter trial has been extended until July by the Brisbane City Council.

More than half a million scooter rides have been recorded following its initial launch in November 2018.

Lime Queensland’s Community Affairs Manager, Nelson Savanh says the scooters are redefining Brisbane transport

“Since launching three months ago, more than 131,000 unique riders have decided to leave the car at home,” he says.

“Brisbane is one of the fastest uptakes Lime has seen globally, so it is fantastic to hear that we will continue to bring this transport solution to a community who have truly embraced our service.”

Lime launched another trial in Adelaide on February 15 and the mobility option has already seen more than 2000 rides in the city.

Lime says safety is its utmost priority and the Respect the Ride campaign is aimed at encouraging responsible riding.

“We are continuously distributing helmets with scooters across the city to ensure all riders are able to ride safely,” Savanh says.

Lime’s commitments to improving city living and urban transportation infrastructure has transformed travel across the globe, expanding to more than 100 markets and recording 26 million rides since its inception in 2017.
