Hyundai Delivers First Hyundai Nexo fuel cell SUV

Hyundai continues to remain committed to producing environmentally-friendly vehicles, with the first Hyundai Nexo fuel cell SUV being sold to its first customer in California, America.

Hyundai’s hydrogen fuel cell car was bought by Tom Hochard, a scientist from Ventura, California who has taken home the only mass-produced fuel cell SUV on the US market.

The Nexo is available for sale for US$58,300 (AU$84,000). Additionally, the Nexo will come with a free year of maintenance, with customers eligible for government tax rebates of up to US$5000, depending on individual tax circumstances.

Buyers are also eligible to receive a $13,000 hydrogen refuelling card incentive from Hyundai Motor Company America to be used in the first three years of ownership.

The Nexo Blue reaches a distance range of 611km versus the Limited’s 569km range.

With Hyundai planning to introduce 38 new or redesigned green cars by 2025, it is likely we will continue to witness further introductions of vehicles containing new fuel cell technology.
