GM confirm EV ute

General Motors (GM) has confirmed it will produce a full-size electric ute.

GM CEO Mary Barra announced the new vehicle earlier this week.

“GM has an industry-leading truck franchise and industry-leading electrification capabilities.

“I assure you we will not cede our leadership on either front. We intend to create an all-electric future that includes a complete range of EVs, including full-size pick-ups (utes).”

Although there is no set timeline for GM’s first all-electric ute, Barra has stated that they will share more when competitively appropriate.

GM currently has the Chevrolet Bolt and Volt electric cars (neither is available in Australia) with further plans to produce a new Chevy EV and an SUV.
