Chargefox Network Acquired by State Motoring Clubs Through AMS

ChargeFox

Australian EV charging network Chargefox has been acquired by Australian Motoring Services (AMS), a company wholly owned by motoring clubs the NRMA, RACV, RACQ, RAC, RAA and RACT. AMS was already a backer of Chargefox.

Chargefox, which was founded in 2017 and has built a network of hundreds of EV recharge sites, has plans to have more than 5,000 EV plugs nationally by the end of 2025.

“We are proud to play a role in supporting Chargefox’s growth. We share a mutual goal to reduce road transport emissions to zero and support the growing community of EV drivers across the country,” said Michael Reed, AMS, Group CEO, in a statement. “We continue to see a large number of EV’s on the road and the number of Australians who are considering purchasing an EV in the future is growing year on year.

“Combined, we’ll have greater power and opportunity to deliver infrastructure that Australians need to increase the uptake of EVs and therefore reduce road transport emissions.”
