Autonomous emergency braking in 10 times more Australian cars

The number of vehicles featuring autonomous emergency braking (AEB) has increased dramatically, according to crash-testing body the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP).

New data published this week revealed ten times as many cars sold this year were equipped with life-saving AEB as standard, compared to just two years ago.

The technology automatically applies the brakes when an impending rear-end crash is detected, helping prevent injury or minimise the severity.
